ADHD Parent Coaching
ADHD parent coaching provides families with the tools to develop their child’s life skills and implement strategies to overcome the unique challenges of ADHD, including difficult behaviors and low self-esteem.
Coaches partner with parents of children with ADHD to help family life be more fulfilling. A coach serves as an ally, providing encouragement and support as clients’ cope with the effect of ADHD symptoms on the family, helping raise awareness about their child’s unique brain-wiring. As your coach, we will collaborate to evaluate your challenges and establish personalized tools and strategies to manage them that work best for you. Once the systems are setup, I help clients decide if those systems are working for them and how they can be adjusted to work better to achieve the goals set.
Individual coaching sessions typically include elements of parent training and behavior management education as the foundational principles to build upon. This aligns with The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommendation that parent training is a key component of treating childhood ADHD and is the number one recommendation for children under 6 years old. Coaching often provides ongoing support to parents to help them implement parenting skills they have learned and put into practice what they understand about ADHD.
Together we can build a PERSONALIZED plan so YOU, the expert on your unique ADHD child, can guide your family to calmer, more connected relationships and empower your child to navigate their behaviors and emotions for success.
