ADHD Parent Coaching
ADHD parent coaching provides families with the tools to develop their child’s life skills and implement strategies to overcome the unique challenges of ADHD, including difficult behaviors and low self-esteem.
Coaches partner with parents of children with ADHD to help family life be more fulfilling. A coach serves as an ally, providing encouragement and support as clients’ cope with the effect of ADHD symptoms on the family, helping raise awareness about their child’s unique brain-wiring. As your coach, we will collaborate to evaluate your challenges and establish personalized tools and strategies to manage them that work best for you. Once the systems are setup, I help clients decide if those systems are working for them and how they can be adjusted to work better to achieve the goals set.
Individual coaching sessions typically include elements of parent training and behavior management education as the foundational principles to build upon. This aligns with The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommendation that parent training is a key component of treating childhood ADHD and is the number one recommendation for children under 6 years old. Coaching often provides ongoing support to parents to help them implement parenting skills they have learned and put into practice what they understand about ADHD.
Together we can build a PERSONALIZED plan so YOU, the expert on your unique ADHD child, can guide your family to calmer, more connected relationships and empower your child to navigate their behaviors and emotions for success.

"I felt overwhelmed with the constant demands, requests, misunderstandings and needs from my children each day, specifically from my youngest who exhibits ADHD like behaviors. I felt that I wasn’t truly listening to his needs, didn’t have the patience for it and easily dismissed his constant follow up questions and unfulfilled needs. Jennifer helped me see the child separate from the behavior and educated me on the development of the child’s brain, incorporating realistic expectations and effective communicative strategies...I am able to better identify my triggers, set healthy boundaries and am more patient listening to my kids really finding the why connected to their emotion."

"I was overwhelmed as a mom trying to figure out how to help my two children with ADHD in the areas which they needed support... She helped me put words to the thoughts and feelings I was having in this unique parenting journey. It was a relief to have someone understand my experiences and the tips she gave us have made a big difference in our home. Her assistance in helping me prepare for a 504 meeting gave me confidence in advocating for my child’s needs."
